I used to have a website hosted by WordPress., but now I've bought my own domain and self hosted. I really want to get the visitor tracker that the WordPress used, does anyone know how to get that is it a plug in? Or only available with WordPress.

Thanks for your help,
have a good day!

I'm using Google Analytics on top of this :P sometimes too lazy to have it open haha. And I like the WP plug ins visitor tracker much more.

I like the jetpack plugin for the quick overview but be sure to install some sort of analytics as well.

There is a plugin called StatPress, and that is what I use on all my blogs. Just login to your wp admin area, go to plugin's and do a search for StatPress.

Jetpack has a stats module. Have not used it, but its bound to be the same one they use on wordpress.com (since the thinking behind jetpack was to bring the .com features to .org blogs).

If you are going to go with the self hosted option, then the two I recommend are
Piwik - http://piwik.org/
Open Web Analytics - http://www.openwebanalytics.com/

Finally of course, you have one of many different commercial offerings. Many of them offer 'free versions' with a page view cap. Great if you are just starting out, but be wary of data lock-in.

WordPress uses it's own stats plugin which isn't available for anyone not using their service.

I would recommend StatPress or JetPack. Using Google Analytics just gives way too much information to Google.

I recommend JetPack for Site Stats. Though it's not a detailed report, but it's still very useful since it summarizes your stats.

If you want detailed report, go fro Google Analytics. Just simply install the code in your header.
