Yesterday I transferred a domain from Godaddy to Namecheap for the first time and it took only 2 hours to show up in my namecheap account. I had heard that domain transfers take up to 5 days but in this case, I was totally impressed by the quick turnover. The only trick was to manually accept the transfer request from Godaddy account after clicking approval mail. Once it is manually accepted, Godaddy releases the domain instantly.

So anyone who got few days (or even a day) in renewal, you can transfer it to Namecheap easily within hours instead of renewing at Godaddy :p

This is great. When i have transfered a domain from name.com to godaddy it took 2 days

i did that over easter and it took less than a day, i did have to raise a ticket but it was a public holiday!

great stuff

NameCheap is great. That is what I use for all my sites.

It has been my favorite registrar since 2004. Luckily, I never have to look back.

How much you spend transfer you domain from GD to Namecheap? I have some domain need renew soon.

You can use a code "BYEBYEGD" which makes the general extension domain transfer at $7.xx

This will only work for transfers from GD.

I moved about 30 domains over to NC , screw GD. Pretty happy so far (been a year now). Even changing NS seemed to propagate within hours, checked from 3 proxies across US.

Namecheap is solid. I also appreciate their one year free whois guard. A much better solution than Go Daddy.

My last transfer from Name to Namecheap took the full 5 days :(

I've transfered many domains from GD to internet.bs and it took about one hour. That's a standard.
