I`m looking at buying a domain name and can`t decide what to go for, with or without an S.

eg. mycar.com or mycars.com both have more or less the same comp but, mycar.com has more traffic.

Will i rank for mycar if i go for mycars.com or will google see cars as a different word to car?

thx in advance.

It depends on your keyword if you are taking cars as your keyword than you should go to mycars.com. Try to search your keywords on google adwords keyword tool about the competition of the keywords and then choose.

I read somewhere that an s on the end is often more commercial in nature, while the singular is often used when looking for information.

If you go to the Google Keyword Tool the singular my car has a lot more monthly searches than my cars for broad, phrase and exact match. Just do this check for your actual keyword.
