May have been asked before but couldn't find a definitive answer here.

New site, hardly any backlinks..

Would my time be best served trying to find a couple 100 d0follow 1PR blogs for say, a week, and then manually posting to them

or

blasting the hell out of 1000's of (probably) n0follow different PR blogs every day for a week with well thought out spun comments?

You'd need to go longer than a week. I believe the average recommendation is 6 weeks to 2 months.

I usually just blast for as long as I can blast for. Either until my VPS gets shut down (never), or I run out of links.

Handmade quality links are better. Having said that, I'd love to know why everyone is so afraid of the sandbox and/or deindexing. When you're not ranking, you get no real traffic anyways (unless you pay for it). I say go for broke or don't do it at all.

use scrapebox to find high pr d0f0ll0w blogs regarding to your niche and manually comment on them. If you will also find d0f0ll0w high pr auto approve is better.

also you can blast with your list of nofollow some web 2.0 properties or articles linked to your money site
