Quick results for offline client

I ran into a number of issues with my client's site. It has been 6 weeks and i haven't gottent him any results. I kinda feel bad, although he understands that his webhost was being difficult.

I want to know what I can do to get him some fast results so he can see that what I do works. Any suggestions?

The client is a plastic surgeon who i doing basic SEO for. I'm thinking I should do some type of social media campaign to get him some exposure.... What do you all think?

is his rankings improving? is he seeing more traffic?

The problem is that he is not getting results (unless whatever your doing is just total BS), the problem is that he is FEELING that he is getting no results.

You need to show him X, Y, and Z data that shows that his online presence is improving and how that will help him. He'll buy into it and FEEL that his decision to sign your contract is good.

It sounds like he has buyer's remorse.

Does he have a blog on his site? If so, get some well written articles written for his blog to target long tail keywords. If he doesn't have a blog, create a "plastic surgery" blog and throw some articles on it with links back to his site. Then feed the articles to Facebook/Digg/Reddit/Twitter. Also setup Adwords for him if he isnt using it yet for some quick visitors.

You mention his web host, what's the deal with them? Downtime?

If the web host is in fact the problem, then get him to switch hosts...?

Definitely get into social media marketing. SMM is seen as a little less "unprofessional" than simply making a website directly about his service (legal/medical see this as low class).

You could create testimonial sites about his service and promote those. Wouldn't exactly be short term, but it'll work.

I actually did convince him to switch hosts, but then after I designed and optimized another domain on a different host, he told me he wanted me to give his old domain another shot.

After going back and forth with these guys for a few days, being transferred over and over by their tech support, I got everything resolved. The old domain is designed & optimized, minus a couple articles on services that I'm writing now. I just wanted to find a way to make it up to him because we were both pretty frustrated by the webhost.

I basically just want to look like I'm saving the day so I can possibly get a few referrals.
