I'm looking to purchase a domain such as fishtankreviews however, they are all taken. fishtank-reviews is also taken so I was thinking:

reviewsfishtank

and when I plugged that into MS they had the same exact Searches, SEOT, but the SEO Comp is way higher for reviewsfishtank.

Now, unfortunately reviewsfishtank is also taken so, would something like myfishtankreviews still be a boost for the KW "fishtankreviews" ?

Yes it would be good because it has your keyword in it - but it isn't as good as a 100% match keyword domain (fishtankreviews).
