Do you think it would harm my traffic if I used the same wordpress theme for 5 different blogs of the same subniche (Assuming they each had unique articles) and they were all linked?

I'll thank anyone who posts.

It depends on where you are getting your traffic from really. If SEO or all same traffic source then it may harm your traffic but you will more than likely get more anyway for the more work you put in with each site.

I think you should use different themes and plugins on each blog. Why have the same footprint on five blogs?

It all depends on the sources of traffic, but as a general rule you should spend some effort on setting a different theme on each blog, it's not something difficult or time consuming, and you'll avoid the risk of traffic losses. With as little as 5 blogs it's not much work to do.

I agree. If I were in your position, I would spend the time to make them different from one another.
