Quick Question on SEO Page Ranking - please help

Hello, sorry for the newbness of the thread..but I have a simple question:

Say there are 2 pages on one domain (Page 1 and Page 2). But I would only like to Page 1 ranked 1st on google and not Page 2.

Will creating backlinks for the Page 1 help the other page?

Yes, it will help page 2 especially if you have a link on page one pointing to page 2. On that scenario, some of page one's link juice is transferred to page 2.

Ah I see, so just blasting Page 1 will help all pages on the domain?
