Quick Question on Domain names/keywords

Hey guys, short and brief, just need a quick answer on this,

Im wanting to make a new site, but all the good domains are gone,
and say , for example, my keyword is free baby bottles,

if I register babybottlesfree.com,

and someone types in on google, 'free baby bottles' would my domain come up as it has the same keywords in it, but its not in the sequential format as its typed?

if that makes sense.. :o

Forgetting about backlinks and whatnot, it would rank better then a domain with no keywords, but obviously not nearly as well as the exact phrase "freebabybottles.com".

As long as you do onsite seo for "free baby bottles", having those keywords in your domain (regardless of order) will certainly be a bonus as far as ranking factors go. How much of a factor depends on the level of competition your up against of course.

hi, on a similar topic, say moneyforoldrope.com is taken but money-for-old-rope.com isnt, how would the search engines react to either, assuming all other factors were the same?

moneyforoldrope.com will rank much better then money-for-old-rope.com. In fact, I would probably rather have oldropemoney.com over money-for-old-rope.com.

I've always been told that dashes are good for separating keywords, but personally, I've never had great success ranking well with them. Maybe I'm doing it wrong :D

Sorry but I'm not sure I agree with this, from a brandable point of view the domain name with the hyphens is worse because people arent going to rememeber it as easy, but as far as SEO goes I have never seen any clear evidence to suggest that the hyphens make any difference what so ever.

Ah you could be right, like I said, I've always heard that dashes were ok. I've just never had great luck with them I guess. I think it's because the couple of times I've tried to rank with them, I was going up against the non-dash versions. If they were parked or being tasted, I bet I would have done better.

I think that in most cases the branding factor alone is enough to stay away but I do hear that they are great for PPC.
