Hey,

So I am about to buy these two domains .Com and .Net and had a thought. My (future) domain name includes the name of the company/product. Now this particular product has drop shippers and wholesalers so its not anything scammy but I dont want to spend tons of time and money into ranking this site and then receive a letter tell me to shut down the site.

Anyone have factual information on this?

Thanks guys!

Nevermind. In case anyone is interested. I called the company directly and they said that it is not allowed as investors do not allow this. So I would need to get creative with this one. Please keep in mind, for others out there interested in this, that the company I contact is relatively small. Although I am sure is getting great biz and has products located on Amazon and other sites they sound like they are prepared to come after you which wouldnt be worth it even getting away with it for however long you could be scratched out at anytime.

Unless you have written permission from the trademark owner you should NEVER register domains with trademarks in them. The one exception is a protest domain such as domainsucks.com. If you register a protest domain and the site is not used for commercial purposes in any way you'll be ok.
