I have 2 websites.

One is an autoblog, about a year old, that isn't monetizing much.
The other is a static page, a few months old, that is raking in huge payoffs.

Is it ok if I were to do a 301 redirection from my old autoblog to the other static page website? Will it harm my rankings in either website or something?

I think it will be harmfull if the page you are redirecting to is not optimized.

Google loves content. They are the best in search solutions, meaning their SERPs are always full of appropriate and useful content.

Why would they compromise such with a 301 redirect from a harmless blog?

At the end of they day, Google needs you as much as you need them. That's what makes them so great.

Trust me. A simple 301 redirect in your .htaccess file for your autoblog, will not make a difference in your rankings. However, just make sure the traffic you are receiving from your Autoblog is organic and healthy. If it isn't, then that's a completely different board game - it will definitely harm your rankings.

It is not going to harm the target page in any way but you will lose any ranking you have for the page initiating the 301. Once Google processes the 301 they will ignore the page you are redirecting like it is not even there anymore. The target page will get all of the love that the old page used to get and to Google the old page will not exist any longer.

The 301 redirect can't hurt the rankings of the site you are directing too. If it did everyone would set up sites and redirect to the competition so they would lose rankings. What it will do is make your site invisible and direct all backlinks and visitors to the new site being directed too.
