quick proxy question

When I input a SOCK proxy into firefox preferences (i put it for HTTP and all the other proxy slots), I only get blank pages when trying to browse the web.

What am i doing wrong here? How do i browse the web with SOCKs?

Ive tried many different proxies, and this happens with all thus far.

Install Proxy Tool for Firefox - it supports HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4 and SOCKS5.

leave all the boxes blank except for the SOCKS boxes.
