Quick PR Question

There's these lists of high PR domains floating around, where you can register and put the url in your profile. So those are supposed to give you lots of backlinks and implicitly a higher page rank.
But here's where I get confused: After you register and you post your link, if you look at the public page that the link is on, that page's PR is 0.
So what's up with that? is that normal? is doing this worth the trouble ?

The domains have high PR, therefore a backlink on the site, regardless of page PR0 would been seen as a 'good' or authoritative backlink.

I am not so sure that Bacanze is right on that score. I have been in link-building for a while now and I personally have yet to see this magical "authority effect".

My advice - ignore all PR1 and below. The page rank measure may not be the last word when determining google rank, but its value is a direct score of how much "node juice" is focused on a page.

Unless the PAGE has PR you are mostly losing your time.

No, most of those are PR0 anyway. Find high PR pages where you can leave comment spam. Search the forum for "find backlinks", there is a goldmine of information here.
