Quick link question

I build some links a couple of weeks ago and just yesterday they appeared in GSC. But I'm not seeing any changes in ranking. Does it take a while for rankings to go up after the links appear on GSC or were the links useless they wont help rakings at all?

haha, it's not that straightforward mate, build links see your ranking go up, it's a complete algorithm behind with over 100 things they take into consideration they say.... just continue building links, aim for high quality ones and don't expect rankings over night, they will come over time if you do it right

I am not 100% positive but I think Google is more interested in people who are sharing your content and not how many sites you link to. Backlinks should be good for increasing traffic to your site.

Links are a ranking factor, right? Lets say that I got 30 great links from relevant high authority sites which guarantee at least a couple of position bumps for a low competition search term. Does it take long for the results to appear? From what I've noticed from my other sites, as soon as the links appear in GSC, my rankings go up cuz that means Google knows about those links and decided if they are valuable or not.

Since I'm seeing no shift from the links I built to the new site, even though Google knows about them since they appeared in GSC, I guessed maybe they didnt move the needle at all. Just wanted to know from your experiences if it might take more time after they appear in GSC in order to see movement.

the thing is that nothing is certain, there's not a set date, it can take some time, it can be immediately or it could take forever, it's not always a direct correlation from what i saw.

Link building is more of a long term thing (especially if it's a new site), so don't expect to see results immediately.

GSC may show the links you built, but whether you rank or not depends on many factors. For example, have the page(s) you built links to been optimised?, do your competition have higher relevance, trust and authority?, etc. Assuming your site has no technical issues and perfect on page SEO, it can still take weeks or months to see results.

I'd suggest checking GSC every month to see if you have traffic improvements. Then depending on your competition, work on creating better content and links.
