3 quick steps:
1) create sitemap > submit to googles search console.
2) link to every page tweeted and shared on fb
3) create 4-5 rss feeds
should be enough

You can use indexing service tool such as bulkaddurl, although it seems that lately it indexes as fast as it gets deindexed behind.
The real question is why you need it? Indexing a link has no value if it's not done the "natural" way => Natural way is the only way a link can cary an interesting juice.

I was told this no longer works recently but then again that it does. If you could do me a solid and try it on a few URLs, you'll be doing us both a favor.

Whether a link becomes indexed "Naturally" or not, isn't the issue.
It's if the link gets indexed too fast, then gets deleted by the site owner/moderator, therefore gets de-indexed as 404 not found is the problem, indexing fast, slow, using indexing services isn't the problem here, its the link loss factor that is more important, think of it logically, if you have a site which has had 10,000 links built to it within a week and indexed within 14 days, then 9,500 of those links get deleted, this is a clear indicator that search engines can see that this was an automated link building strategy. ITS LINK LOSS that determines if your site sticks around or not.
I always build my backlinks/link building campaigns first, then link check these links or "reverify" these backlinks for at least 14-30 days, before I even deem the links worthy of sending them to the indexer I use, This saves time building more links in the long run and money saved when sending to the indexing service on a plus, it will also lower your link loss that the search engines know about... Everything needs to be considered, methods need to be in place when you're doing SEO especially when using automated link building tools with lower quality/unreliable link sources.
A link that has not been submitted to an indexing service OR that has been actively tried to be indexed (pinged, tiered etc) will not become indexed quickly, I have tested this many times, comparing it to the indexing service I use, a new link which is created by a tool such as SER will not get indexed "easily" or "quickly" on its own, trust me, it'll take a few weeks for this type of link to even be found or even just crawled, so my strategy above works pretty well for me... build tier 1 first... wait 14-30 days, reverify this tier, clean whats left, delete dead links, send to indexer.... wait 14 days for indexation, then begin with tier 2, rinse and repeat, you will start to see ranking trends for your project, patterns.. then SEO doesn't seem such a mystery does it?
