I'll throw out a few suggestions:
1) Preferably a few days before the new year, list your main resolutions. Do a bit of quick research to find out effective ways to fulfill them in the new year.
2) KEEP THE LIST SHORT, maybe 3-5 is best, but 10-12 at maximum. Confine the resolution description to clear manageable tasks you can do all year long.
3) Call the first resolution "January," and focus on executing the associated task every day/ other day for a full month. As per what motivational speakers often say, "it takes 21 days to create a habit," by month's end you will have ingrained it into your lifestyle and regular routine.
4) Focus on the second resolution, or "February," rinse and repeat , such that by the end of two months you now have 2 new ingrained habits. Continue adding the habits towards executing each resolution on your list throughout the year. By later in the year you will have succeeded in fulfilling all your resolutions.
Yes, I HAVE DONE THIS, kind of. Some habits may seem harder to acquire, in which case take two months to build the habit. This method can obviously be adapted to various projects, from losing 50 pounds, to mastering an SEO skill, to being a better lover, whatever.
