Quick Guide: Finding Reptile Breeder Web Design Clients

For those of you who do web design for businesses, here's something you may not have considered when searching for clients: reptile businesses.

You see, I have both pets and rescues of all types, including reptiles, so one gap I've noticed is that many breeders do not have a website.

Yes, really.

You can look all over various discussion boards, and it's just people telling you to go to Morph Market (basically a reptile Craigslist) or a specific dealer who only does business exclusively in Facebook groups or their Facebook page (yuck!).

Both of these options have issues, and from my dealings with breeders in my local area, I know they want a website, they just don't know how to get one. Do you know what that sounds like to me?

In fact, I know it's money because I've built these kind of websites for breeders. They typically aren't picky clients, pay well, and usually don't want anything complex.

If you want to easily find these businesses, simply search Reddit using a query such as one of the following:

Where to buy a CB garter snake site:reddit.com

I'm focusing on garter snakes here, but any uncommon pet reptile will do. Red-eyed crocodile skinks are one such example: they're in high demand as many people want a "cute little dragon", but it's very hard to find them captive bred. So:

1. Search Reddit for a breeder who offers captive bred red-eyed crocodile skinks
2. Read through the discussions whilst looking up any names mentioned. Note down the ones who do not have websites.
3. Reach out to the breeders and offer to build them a website

The breeder will get a website, you'll get paid well for an easy job, and their customers will have an easy-to-access site where they can see the breeder's current stock and contact them. Everybody wins here.
