I'm going to document a small case study, or journey if you will regarding GPT-3 content on a new domain.
So far, I've purchased a new domain, ported it to CloudFlare, and posted 7 articles.
All of them are indexed on Google. I've used Reddit for the first 3 articles. After this point, whenever I request indexing from GSC, it gets crawled in about 20 minutes.
All the articles are generated straight from OpenAI's playground using various prompts.
I'm using the keywords that rank on one of my successful PAA websites.
No edits done, and I don't plan on doing edits to the articles.
I will eventually scale this, so there won't be any time in doing fine touches to the text.
Basically, I'm using 4 or 5 questions and expanding them into 300-400 words sections, and then combining them into a complete article.
Most articles have around 1,500 words. I went overboard with one and ended up with 2,700 words.
Using openAI free keys by using some SIM cards I had laying around.
One free api gets you about 120 articles. I know, I'm cheap.
This is where I'm at right now
Overall goal is to have about 300 articles posted and (hopefully) indexed.
From that point, I will decide what to do with it.
My first intention is putting it up on flippa and grab a quick $1,200 or so for it.
The website looks like a legit one, every article has relevant pictures which I manually add.
Using the free Astra theme, everything looks nice and clean.
Planing to post another set of 20 articles today, if I can finish my work faster.
I have two jobs, so I'm trying to squeeze this in between breaks.
Making a journey out of it to share my findings, and see what money can be made out of this.
When I started it, Bing indexed 3 articles.
Then it removed my website from their search engine.
I then removed my Privacy Policy page as it was a generated one with duplicate content.
Next day, all the articles are indexed in Bing as well. Can't make much of this yet, but I did suspect some automated crap on their part for duplicated content even on Privacy Policy pages.
I'm expecting them to delist it anyway as they own the license to GPT-3 and I'm sure they have a way of telling the content is from openAI.
Will see in the future.
Will try and post everytime I make changes or add something. Which will, hopefully, be daily.
Trying to get this done fast, hopefully by the end of the month. I'll then either try selling it, or keep it if traffic spikes.
The reason I mention selling it is, it looks like a legit website, and I always see starter websites like these go for $800 to $1,500 on flippa real quick.
For the article generation part, I'm using a small script I coded in Python.
Nothing fancy, I just feed it the questions, and have the output saved in HTML code so I can just copy/paste in Wordpress.
The only edit I do is post a picture from Unsplash with a nice caption and description.
Ok, that's it. Will keep this updated frequently, and hope for the best.
