Good Evening,

I am about to buy a domain. 95% of the time I will not buy if the .com is not available.

Well, I have a domain that I have to buy and the .com is taken, but the rest are available. I am good with on page and off page SEO, so which domain would be best to buy:

.co
.me
.net
.org
.com
.us
.info

The site will be mainly accessed by Americans. Any advice would be much appreciated. Also, the .com is not being used. It is parked and it is not indexed, so I do not need to worry about that.

Thank you!

.com > .org > .net > .info > .me > .co (I only put .co last because I have personally never seen a .co on googles 1st page anywhere) GL

Thank you both. Unfortunately, I am really torn between the .net and .org and so far that is what has been suggested. I will wait for more replies! Maybe a poll would have worked best.

PS. Also, some extra advice. No domain is really that special to purchase a .net or .org etc etc etc...
Go back to google keywords. do some more exact searches. And find a domain of equal value or potentially better... I have seen shitty .com's rank higher than awesome .nets or .orgs etc etc etc

So you are suggesting that if my keyword is Namecheap Coupon Codes and namecheapcouponcodes.com is taken then I should go with something like topnamecheapcouponcodes.com over namecheapcouponcodes.net or .org?

.com -> .net -> .org

I don't bother with shitty info sites. Every time I see one, then the page says that they make millions.. I laugh, because they bought an info domain. Also, info domains dont rank as well/easily as .com/net/org.

If all else fails, change the domain name. However, remember that the less extra characters the better.

namecheapcouponcodes1.com
-vs-
bestnamecheapcouponcodes.com

I would go with namecheapcouponcodes1 becaus the domain is around 99% related, where bestnamecheapcouponcodes is maybe around 90% because it has more extra characters.

bought the .net. I will see how it goes. Thank you guys for your input!

Yes I would go with topnamecheapcouponcodes.com instead

then do exact searches for
"top"
"name"
"cheap"
"coupon"
"codes"
"coupon codes"
"name cheap coupon codes"
"top name"

etc...
I have found the best results from .com but .net and .org would be the best bet if you choose to go that route... good luck
