I planned to have a blog on marketing niche. How to get the content: taking articles from blogs and books in French and translating into English. Then changing the text to personalize it.

Do you think Google would consider it low quality?

Can it work well to get traffic?

Normally, people do it the other way around.
I've read a few successful journeys where people were translating English content into their native languages (don't remember the thread names).

The thing is I think English has more expensive keywords I think.
My native language is Spanish. Unfortunately, the only Spanish speaking country with a high GDP per capita is actually Spain (nor Mexico, Argentina, etc.).

However, there are several English speaking languages with a high GDP per capita like the USA, UK, Canada and Australia.
Not to mention the 45M Spaniards against the over 450M English speakers from those 4 countries.

That's why I thought to have the blog in English.

Am I missing something?

No, you're not missing anything.
I understand your point.

It's just I don't remember seeing a journey like this. From English - yes, into English - no.

PS: Yes, there is more money in English speaking countries but at the same time the competition is fiercer. I think that's why some people were translating into their native languages.

if you make it engaging (or at least preserve the ideas from the articles that you rewrite and which - I assume - are already ranking) then google won't consider it low quality. But they might still not rank it for other reasons :)

If you absolutely want to rewrite other people's content by translating it then at least use DeepL and translate it into 3-4 different languages before finally translating it into the language of your site, and this way you won't have to rewrite anything, you'll just do some minor grammar corrections.

Can it work well to get traffic?
of course! It's content just like any other...
