Alright, so basically I own a retail store that sells products online for various brands. On the 30th of this month, a new hot product is being announced as open for orders by one of the brands.
As a retailer for this brand, we aren't allowed to talk about it prior to the launch date, meaning there's no content out there on the internet about the product quite yet other than one speculative thread on a forum...
What I'm thinking of doing is creating a site, and using churn and burn techniques to rank it first for the relevant product keywords people will be searching on the 30th of the month. I can have the content on the churn and burn site link to my money site where people can buy the product.
Again, I don't expect much competition other than some product purchase pages being put up by other retailers on the day of launch.
What do you guys think of this strategy for the churn and burn site:
1. Put up a simple free blog on something like WP blogs, populate it with a few articles related to the keywords people will be searching on the 30th. This would all be done ASAP.
2. Blast it with a ton of cheap links/blog comments/etc right now.
3. On the 30th, I edit the content to include links to my money site.
The only thing I'm worried about is:
a) Will I rank fast enough in time for the product launch?
b) Will I maintain ranking throughout the product launch period?
c) How can I avoid getting my money site penalized? Can I just disavow the links I get from the site I'm blasting with shitty links? Or is there a better way of doing this?
