Run a contest on your blog where you give away free digital goodies and premiums

OR you can run a contest (giving out freebies with high value)

To participate, the contestants/freebie seekers have to send an email to join your Yahoogroup

Keep them engaged by sending giveaway/freebie updates as well as updates on how to benefit from your freebies

From time to time send out your latest blog posts' links. Just make sure to make it clear HOW THEY BENEFIT from reading your stuff

So basically
  • Giveaway
  • Collect email
  • Send update through email to attract them to visit
  • Repeat
Correct?

Any idea for digital giveaway that doesn't cost or cost a little?
Ebook? Or secret post? Coupon code?
 
Thanks for sharing! Certainly not a bad idea!!! I think an ebook or digital download product related to your niche will work. I also see how I can offer a secret post/long beneficial post in exchange for their emails. Or maybe a multi-blog giveaway where bloggers in the same/similar niche get together and raise the stakes. I've seen this method work really well.
 
Just a case of figuring out the value of each visitor of your site to figure out how much you can afford to give away as a prize, if something you have to pay for, based on your estimated increase in viewers for the period.
Just got to hope they stay with you for more than the giveaways
 
It’s not as easy as it sounds, but it’s not a bad tip.

For anyone interested, I suggest using King Sumo giveaway form/tool. I’ve tested it and it works great.
 
You can even turbocharge this further by asking contestants to post the contest on their FB walls (or if you're super aggressive, post it on FB groups but that's really pushing it)
