Questions regarding self hosted 4G Proxies

Hello.

So I've came across a few thread explaining how to setup our own 4G Proxy.
The one's I've read, states that you must own:

Raspberry (4B)
Ethernet Cable
USB Dongle


However, that means you'd have to buy all of this times the number of proxies you want to have.
I've seen a seller, using only:

Physical PC / Server
USB Hub
And as much as dongles as you want.

Therefore the cost is highly reduced, I have NOT found a thread regarding this and I came here to kindly ask if anyone knows how to setup the proxies that way or could show me how to get those instructions.

Setup is almost the same, you simply use linux desktop/laptop computer where you connect your externally powered USB hub.

Thank you for your very fast response, I appreciate.

I understand the idea behind this, but the question to setup them is actually where I get stuck.

I saw automated scripts, but those only applies per device (raspberry + one dongle) what I mean is each "controller (raspberry if I can call it like that)" has to run the script to get on proxy.
Is there any scripts, tutorials actually to setup it on one device, in our ideal condition an laptop running linux with an USB hub and 6 dongles for example.

Those are for my personal usage and I wont be reselling them, my goal is actually to acquire 2 very own proxies from a French carrier that I can run/stop on demand and make sure it's not shared.

The service I'am currently using is scummy and sharing the proxies even though you pay for privates one,therefore I'am willing to learn and acquire the material to setup them for my own usage.

I do have experience with Linux environnement so typing commands and such is understandable for me, I'm not looking for someone to spoonfeed me directly, even though that might be quicker and (I don't mind actually)
I'm down for anything else that might help me getting what I need,

*PS: I do have another question: are USB dongles recognized as Network adapters ? Cause if this is the case even a Windows machine could do the job and I do know how to setup a proxy from a Network Adapter

yes, they are. And yes, even windows should work.

Again, thank you for your time and responses.

The USB hubs, must be 5V from what I've understood is that correct?
Cause, one of my contacts told me to purchase a 70€ USB Hub, 5V and with 16 slots.
As I'am looking to acquire only 2 for now, I do believe any USB Hub with 5V and 2 slots are enough?

In case I'am having trouble to setup things, would anyone offer a setup service for my own particular usage?

The price sounds about right. voltage depends on your dongles tho but 5V will be more than enough.

I recommend Orico or Sipolar USB hubs.

Yes, your USB port can handle 2 dongles for sure so even simple USB splitter should do the job.

If you still didn't bought anything yet. I suggest you to go with Android phones, easy to setup, cheap

Using Modems will get you stuck in the script process unless you know what you are doing, if you aren't good enough you will have all devices sitting in the fridge. Or you will search for services to link your modems on but still you need to buy their devices to make it works and monthly packages aren't cheap.

If you change your mind, and wanna use Android devices instead, there's services that cost cheap. 6$/month per device, you link your Android+Sim"data" to the service package, you get everything you need.

For now I didn't purchase anything only gathering information to make my final purchase,
I do understand the "risk" involved but in case an USB Dongle is detected as a Network adapter, well all my problems are solved I could take my own PC don't even need a laptop and run my software to turn them as proxies when I need them.

However, could you please elaborate more with Android devices? I do have 2 phones actually that runs Android to that might also work and perhaps less pricy and might save a few bucks?
What does the service offer how does it work etc?

Cause when you say link I'm wondering how it works

Why don't you go with Mobile Proxies? You'll just need an Android Phone which is plugged in and charging 24/7. Your cost will be highly reduced and people actually prefer Mobile Proxies more because of their rotative nature.

You clearly have no clue as to what you're about to do.
You said you only need two proxies, in which case what you're trying to do makes no sense.

Just purchase two dedicated 4g proxies, it's the same thing. There's no difference, you will get the same product.

To be more clearer, I need to turn my 4G connection into an HTTPS/Socks5 proxy to be able to do what I need to do.
I think I'am poorly informed in some way, and language barrier might make it difficult for me to understand things properly my apologies for this.
But yeah, fine I do have Android Phone and I do have 4G subscriptions how do I make them a proxy accessible from my very own computer ?

I repeat again I might not have all the informations, but like I said on previous post I've made I do have a software that turn any Network Adapter to a proxy which makes me no need to code anything as long as it's recognized as it.

EG: On that pic I do have my ethernet connected to my router #1, and #11 is an WiFi dongle connected to my neighbor WiFi so I can use his IP.
Which I'd like to do the same with the dongles.

EDIT: This works just fine with mobile phone plugged and doing a regular hotspot connection

Now, I have to think which one is cheaper:

2 Android phones + 2 sim card with a 4G subscription
2 Dongles + 2 sim card with a 4G subscription

But regardless I do have all the answers I need.

Well hence why my post is literally named: "Questions regarding self hosting 4g proxies" ,
I'm not going to purchase two dedicated 4g proxies for the reason I stated above.
Unless you are able to provide me an 4G from any French carrier that has 1Gb/2Gb / month and is not shared so far my best bet is to do all by my own.

Of course you can run multiple 4g dongles\phones on single PC. E.g. up to 50 on a PC. These free guide perhaps don't cover this situation.

Since you have 2 Android phones, you can use them
Also for rotation feature, you will need them to be Rooted.

Depends what's cheaper in France.

Here, dongles cost about $20/piece.
A cheap used smartphone about $40-$50

It makes sense using the dongles.
 
For such a small setup, just use phones. No need for a Raspberry Pi, computers or any commands.

No need for root either if you're using the right thing.
 
For just 2 proxy going the dongle way is more technical and not worth it on a small setup imo, and since you already have 2 devices just go with those and get the app.
 
Do you know if att prepaid in the USA has a problem connecting with the USB modem? They make it very difficult to setup an account without a phone in the first place.
