Hi,

First of all sorry if this isn't in the right section couldn't find one.
So I'm doing some research about bulk mailing both withehat and blackhat for a project, I found most of the information I was looking for but now I'm looking for some responses by people that actually make money doing bulk mailing.

So I have some questions for experimented bulk mailers and I'd really appreciate if some of you takes the time to answer them or to directly contact me.

  1. Are you using your own SMTP servers or services like sendgrid, mandrill, mailet, etc... and why?
  2. Are you doing any kind of IP or domain name warmup or do you directly start sending?
  3. How do you keep track of your IP or domain name "sender score"?
  4. Are you doing any kind of bounce rate or complaint rate dilution?
  5. How long does an IP or domain name last usually before you have to change it?

Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer my questions and I'd really like having a chat with you if you have more time.

There are pages here with very detailed instructions and which answer most your questions. Try searching the site using google, use site:blackhatworld.com mass mailing and see.

Thanks I already read a lot of thread on this forum, I'm not looking for instructions on how to start bulk mailing but rather collect data and understand how people are working with bulk mailing.

Des_Carter,

Here is the answers to your questions
1. Yes i am using personal smtp servers (If i use sendgrid or etc they ban me for higher bounces and complaints from my clients so always have use personal)
2. Warm Up is important if you want to reach inbox for TLDs for GI not important
3. you have to manually check it via senderscore.org
4. for bounce i use my perl script to remove bounces before sending
5. I have many IPs and Domains, so i replace with new and then warm the bad and then restart from it
