So i have been considering jumping into the youtube gaming scene, I will be preferably focusing on one main multiplayer game. But i been having a few questions stuck in my mind and in hope of my fellow BHW members could answer them.

    Here they are

1.) Do you find commentaries better then raw gameplay to interest viewers?

2.) When you get approved by a gaming partnership company (Machnima, TGN etc.), Do they pay you for all your videos accumulated views each month or only selected videos each month.

3.) The game that i plan on uploading videos for has a much smaller community, mainly due to it's huge skill-curve. Could i perhaps boost my views with youtube services, Would the company know?

4.) HD PVR or Capture Card? I am recording from my xbox 360.

5.) What is the average CPM from these companies?

6.) Say a video is 15 to 30 seconds, A sick ass montage clip and it gets a few hundred thousand views. Do i still get credited the same amount as a normal 6 minute to 10 minute video?

7.) If i upload videos that aren't directly related to my channel like vlogs, Do they still receive revenue?

Thanks for any help, Also i will give you a hint about the game i plan on making videos for. It's a xbox 360 exclusive.

I do, but it really depends on the content, boring content really needs a very enthusiastic commentator. While exciting content doesn't.

Accumulated. But with Machinima you get paid more for videos you upload to their channel.

3.) The game that i plan on uploading videos for has a much smaller community, mainly due to it's huge skill-curve. Could i perhaps boost my views with youtube services, Would the company know?
That's a hard question. It really all depends on 3rd party stat websites. Some networks say you need to submit your Socialblade stat page which will show them of any weird views change. So if you bot views you need a really good plan, not like you pulled views out of your ass.

HD PVR. I use the happuage shit. Definitely recommended.

5.) What is the average CPM from these companies?
2-4, depends on the network and the views you have prior to signing up.

6.) Say a video is 15 to 30 seconds, A sick ass montage clip and it gets a few hundred thousand views. Do i still get credited the same amount as a normal 6 minute to 10 minute video?
Regarding getting paid via the fixed CPM? Yes. Just keep in mind you only get paid for monetziable views.

7.) If i upload videos that aren't directly related to my channel like vlogs, Do they still receive revenue?
Yes, but prior to signing up the networks look at your content and it has to be mainly gaming videos.

Thank you + Rep added, The funny thing is. I thought your BHW username was your youtube username excepting some cod videos to pop up, I saw a bunch of unrelated stuff on youtube.

My english isn't the best while talking, So commentaries are not my thing but i do pull off alot of 20-0 gameplays.
Are all my views montizable views? If not, Can you give me a percentage of how many view out of 1000 would be montieze?

BTW, The game i plan on uploading for is Gears of war 1, 2 & 3. The biggest uploaders have around 45,000 - 50,000 subs, So as you can tell it's a small community. The only reason the community is not constantly growing is because of the game being challenging.

I really don't know. go to your analytics page and it will tell you. https://www.youtube.com/analytics (click the views under where it says "Performance")

Searching gears of war and looking at gameplay, lots of channels with over 100k subs are doing them.. but if it's a small community then gaming networks will take that in mind. But really try to several games that are popular.

Yea but those are the ones who upload one gameplay or trailers in hope of it getting them a ton of views. I am talking about channels like these who upload constant gears of war 3 gameplays (People rarely post gears 1 or 2 gameplays anymore):

    http://www.youtube.com/user/Whiteboybeballin

And about doing a few different games, Do you mean like let's plays.

It's a flat $2.00 CPM regardless on machinima. That's the case for partners and directors on realm/sports/respawn anyway, not sure about main channel, never had the honour to go on there :(

Look at their content though, they do more than just GoW, most of the people you linked also do famous games like Minecraft and CoD. You really need to tap into several games rather than just focus on GoW. That will allow you to gain more views and fans.
