im just starting and i made some ads for a couple local bussiness. I got them on the top of the video tab in google. remember i havent talked to them at all. I plan on calling them and telling them that i got them at the top of google and asking them for money or i will take it down. How much money should i ask for? I was thinking $100 a month to keep it up. Should i email or call? How should i ask to get the money? Paypal? Any Answers or tips would be apperiated

use email so you can take your time for their inquires or questions
paypal invoices is the the most popular

Are you ranking local business for free and then asking for money?
Generally you should do it the other way around: comment what you are willing to do, and then try to do it for free until you get to the position. Then you can ask for the money you commented.

The price depends a lot in the competition. If it's an easy keyword you can charge low with PayPal without issues.

Most of us do it per lead. Business that have been cold called rarely want to shell out for something they're not sure will work.

After a couple months of leads they would be more open to renting the video on a monthly basis, or even buying it.

well if i didnt do anything and asked for money they probaly wouldnt want to pay but if i already got them at the top of google they might be more likely to want to keep it up there. thats my thought process

If it's easy for you, then it's fine. I find very hard to rank for certain keywords, so working without any guarantees, it's a new level of uncertainty. Most SEO professionals don't even rank without an upfront payment. But you are not only not asking for it, but not even asking for intentionality! Really risky but if it works for you, it's fine.

i live in arkansas there are really small towns so its easy to rank

Let's talk about the money. While it's true that freelancer rate can vary drastically depending on industry and type, whether you a full-timer or your freelance as a side hustle. That said, a separate study by Pay oneer found that the average freelancer in the U.S. earns $31 an hour compared to $26.30 an hour for all American employees ,,, i think it was in 2017 ..

Same as rank and rent. Just rank the videos and rent them to local businesses.
