Questions about selling a site on Flippa

In the past six years or so I have sold I think 4 sites on Flippa and a couple on DP. My Flippa sales total around 10k, most of which came from a site I sold for 7k last summer. When listing a site I've always been honest about stats and income.


I have a site that is number one on G for it's main KW and for a few weeks I have considered selling it, because I could do with the cash and I think I have gone as far as I can go with it. Since January, I estimate I have made around $1200 from it, although this month has been lower than Jan and Feb. Revenue comes from a mix of CB, Amazon, ebay, adsense and Shareasale. it gets around 20k uniques a month.

The content is completely original, and it is the best resource there is on the subject. Other search results bring up vendors selling their product in the niche, and sites that just have one page on the subject, but mine seems to be the only detailed resource as far as I can see.

The problem I have with listing it on Flippa as I would have done a few weeks ago, is that a large percentage of the 7,000 backlinks (according to ahrefs) or so come from blog networks. I had used BMR only for a month last year, and another one that so far doesn't seem to have been hit.

I am kind of concerned that a savvy buyer or just someone being shitty could bring that up in the comments of Flippa, and could put people off buying, or worse it could lead to someone reporting the site to G.

If my site were to drop in the rankings, it would be a farce, because as I say, there is not another site that covers the topic as well as mine does. So far it hasn't dropped, although my unique visitors seem to have dropped over the last few days, although it's rankings are the same.

Am I being paranoid? Is there somewhere else to sell it other than Flippa where these concerns might not be so important?

You could consider the hidden URL sale option which will protect your site to a degree or maybe another way is ask meathead1234 here on BHW if he will handle the sale for you as he will be savvy to the best way to deal with the sale on Flippa

I think your being paranoid. There will still be tons of potential buyers even if a few notice the backlink issue. All people look at on flippa is earnings and $1200 in 2 months is great

You should go for selling it at flippa in my own personal opinion. The revenue will play a major role in its sale.
