Hi Guys,

Just joined Quora & I wanted to ask few questions!

* Is getting upvotes worth it? Is there any benefit for spending time over Quora? Can I use it to upbring my sales for SEO services?
* Whats the right way to get traffic or advertise on Quora?
* How can you get more and more upvotes & views? I see people posting one lined simple questions & everyone who responds writes a long detailed answer including every tits and bits! Is this how it works on Quora?

The reason you will find long detailed answers on Quora is because it won't accept short posts. You might get lucky at times but most of the times you will need to post long replies. I haven't heard about getting upvotes yielding any benefit but I might be wrong.

All I can say is that I get targeted traffic from Quora within a specific niche, and that it sometimes converts (but hardly when compared to Google). All links are NoFollow so it doesn´t have a lot of benefit other than getting traffic.

I prepare pseudo accounts in specific niches in Quora and build them properly
Quora love bigger answers and answers with images help me in pushing them to top.
Here are a few stats of my accounts

Receiving tons of traffic daily from Quora and it converts well too.
Building multiple accounts will help you in upvoting your answers since some time only quality answer wont make it to top.

I think the quality of the answers is most important. Your accounts maybe banned if you create multiple accounts for upvote.

Quora is one of the biggest and relevant source of getting traffic to your site. Here you can post and ask question related to your niche, you will get relevant traffic from here which helps in increasing the sales and conversion rate.
And upvotes will help you to boost your answer, so post good and informative content here.

Quora is absolutely great for marketing since it doesn't ban open advertising at all. You can directly show off your products and nobody will mind.

To answer your questions:

No, upvotes are not that important. What you should be concentrating on is views – the more views you get, the more privileges you have, e.g. when you request an answer on Quora, you get to choose whom to ask and the list starts with the person who has the highest number of views in this topic.
Answer as many questions as possible. And try to give good answers too: long, substantial, with pictures or screenshots.

My experience tells that answering on reddit brings twice more traffic to your site than Quora with similar efforts
try it if it's relevant to your niche

IMO, Quora is great. Conversions are even great if done the right way!

You have to speak highly about your subject/field and be one of the most viewed people in it to make people realize that you are expert in your work!
