Hey,

Quick questions.

1) who do you host your porn sites. what hosting company allows porn?
2) where do you get your content... pirated? legit.. or licensed?
3) how many visitors a day do you get on your sites.... average.
4) age of sites...

If you can help answer any of the questions..... I would appreciate it.

you do not have to give specifics......

Porn webmasters have there own community, doubt many of them hang out here, (could be wrong) I did end up on a specific forum once but don't remember the URL, it was very interesting but I didn't end up in that niche. Too hard

As mentioned above, porn webmasters have their own community and forum. A very active forum as well. I'm not sure what the rules are in regards to outing other forums on here. If the rules prohibit such a thing, I can send you the URL.

I thought I could answer you since I operated a porn site with a colleague an year back.

1) We hosted with GoDaddy (yeah I know, they suck) since they allowed porn domains and content. I can't remember if they officially announced it or if we just found out by doing lots of research if it's okay.

2) We only used trailers from various affiliate programs. The best program we used was JuggCash, Brazzer's affiliate program. They had lots of content for us to use for free.

3) At the best we got a little over 1000 visitors but it was actually quite hard to get there.

4) We operated the site for one year but the last two or three months we didn't update it so it dropped in rankings and we just let it go. I regret it now but I wanted to focus on other sites that brought more money into table. Porn is hard to monetize :/

And by the way, we had a great EMD and surprisingly the TLD was WS. It still showed up really high on Google with our search term! As you can imagine it's kinda hard to find good .com or .net porn domains so we thought it won't hurt to try with an exotic one. After that venture I've been catching dropping porn domains and I have big plans for them in the future. Are you planning on venturing into porn business Virus1? It would be interesting to share some thoughts some time.

This made me smile as I see so many seo posts talking about porn sites as bad neighbors, but so many hosts allow them if you email and ask
So most sites on shared hosts are closely linked to a porn site whether they like it or not

If you decide to start a porn site you should consider hosting you're own movies instead of embedding from other site's.There's alot of hosting companies out there that allows you to host adult content. Hetzner,Ovh and leaseweb are a few that allows this tho I would recommend signing up with ovh or hetzner.
Doing Seo on these type of site's are a b1tch since all the good keywords are very competitive and hard to rank for so you're best bet would be to get a domain that contains one of those competitive keywords as it will rank easier.
You can get content from other porn tube site's there's alot of them out there downloading and uploading them to you're server sucks it takes alot of you're time unless you have a custom script that have a scraper and upload videos from other porn related sites to you're server.

-traffic depends alot of things how well you rank for certain keywords, how and where you market you're site etc.

Having said all that I host with OVH
And get content from other major porn sites using videoswiper.(google it)
Im not going to share my traffic stats or domain age.

dont host illegal content.
if you would like to discuss more pm me

What exactly was "too hard"? :p

As long as your adult content is legal most hosts won't see any problem with it. Some will insist on selling you VPS or a dedicated box due to high bandwidth. Webair is pretty god with mature hosting.

1) you can host on hostgator
2) some torrented some legit w licence (cost about $30-$50 for 1000pictures from 2-3 girls, non exclusive licence, not pornstars)
3) up to 10k pageviews a day
4) 1year-1month

1) who do you host your porn sites. what hosting company allows porn?

Hosting porn is fine on most hosts. For example Hostgator allows it. Bluehost does not allow it since they are in Utah and it's against the law for them to.

2) where do you get your content... pirated? legit.. or licensed?

I buy it or embed it.

3) how many visitors a day do you get on your sites.... average.

800ish

4) age of sites...

Three are new and one is 2 years old.

Host with The Planet.
150,000 uniques a day on my best domain. If you are US watch out for 2257.

edit..
Site was established in 1999.

I think the question we are forgetting to ask is...

Does anyone still make money with porn?

Interesting post... I was toying with this idea. Not a porn site per se, but actually designing mobile sites for escorts in my area.

After all, if Johnny is at the bar at 9PM, and feeling a little... "constricted"... he's not going to have access to a desktop or laptop. He is going to start looking for companionship on his smart phone.

And since escorts have regular sites, anyone know of any legal issues designing and hosting mobile sites for them?

3) how many visitors a day do you get on your sites.... average.

4) age of sites...

For porn use US or Dutch hostings, they have no problems with it if content is legit.

you do not have to give specifics......

1. godaddy , hostgator allow porn. the only condition is it should be LEGAL porn no illegal porn like - child porn, rape, scat, animal sex etc.,

2. content depends on what you are tryin to do .. if its a pay site then you need your own content or tie up with a producer to get content or oyu can be an affiliate at take a few preview videos and see if it can convert.

3. traffic is easy to get in porn but conversion is HARD you need 10-100 times more traffic in porn to make something close to what you would typically in main stream sites.

4. well age of sites only matters if you are tryin to do aggressive link building. and all the good names in porn you can come up with is already taken by someone from the early 2000's lol and they would want an arm and a leg for givin up on that .

many options are tube sites, pay sites, tgp/mgp sites - pay site content or tube site content.

thats abt it i suppose :P
