Hello! I've started to manage and grow 2 ig accounts but The problem is: how do I get followers that are active and interract with my page? Anyone can really get a good amount of followers but I imagine that it would be far more profitable to have a page with a tone of interraction rather than just a tone of inactive followers.

So does anyone have tips on how to grow an account and actually get active followers?

  1. go to a successful account in your niche (that has a active community)
  2. copy there model
  3. improve there model

Here's what I do:

1. Good content is necessary, obviously. I'm not going to follow someone or comment on a blurry crappy picture.

2. Once you have 12 good items in your profile page to make you look appealing, start follow/unfollow (automate this with a phone app, or something like Jarvee).

3. The key is in WHO's followers you target for follow/unfollow. Do they have good engagement?

If their topic is similar to yours and their account size is similar to yours, you'll probably be able to share their followers and also get similar engagement.

I wrote a script to analyze different accounts, their engagement on the last X posts, and use that as part of my decision to decide who to target.

I also unfollow within about a day and a half if I don't get a follow back - I'd rather have followers who are on IG everyday and responsive.

4. Every few days, go through and block accounts that aren't providing good engagement.

Thanks! This helped a lot :)

10,000 followers, your method, how long can you recruit?

Not sure yet. I'm growing a small account for the last six weeks.

Was getting around 25 a day at first (while under 700 followers), engagement at 50%.

Now getting closer to 100-150 a day (around 1600 followers), following around 400-500 a day - not amazing numbers I don't think, but decent since I'm putting almost no effort into it, haven't even posted in a week other than one story.

Engagement is hovering around 17% - lower than I'd like. Stopped getting contacted by people looking for shoutouts around 20%.

Probably could boost this rate by doing a few hours of research to change who I'm following (following hashtags and big accounts give a lot of shitty followers), but haven't had time. Not too worried yet, since almost every similar account I've looked at is in the 3-5% range for recent engagement.

In a few weeks will take a day to review everything, research, readjust, and start tracking metrics more closely as I adjust variables.
