Questions about fake traffic and Google.

I have a web bot I'm building, I can set proxies, and spoof the referrer, so in my analytics, it actually looks like the visitor came from a google search.

For example, I load up a proxy address from somewhere in the US, then I send that user to my site with a referrer of https://www.google.com/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=something+related+to+my+site and it actually registers in google as thought it was organic traffic from a search. I tested this today with google's real time analytics.

So... Is the big G smart enough to know that this was faked, or can I just do this to my hearts content.

My main goal is to get the visitor count high enough to look legit and sell ads space. Nothing huge, 10,000 a month or so.

I am also doing SEO to build up the real organic traffic, but in the mean time, are there any holes in my logic?

My main concern is Google realizing that the traffic is fake and killing my site's rankings. Does anyone here have an idea about my idea and whether or not it'll work?

Google doesn't look at your analytics (says matt cutts) and hence won't realise your traffic is fake.

I think they look at your bounce rate back to google for visitors. They also look at exact match searchs for your site

Lol nice idea, evil though.

I don't know, but I'd be interested in getting my hands on your bot if it can fake the referrer accurately... most of the ones you see don't show up like that in GA... sounds like you've done a nice job with it!

Well, if G ranking is your concern, i doubt it'll work. Like fathobbitsss wrote, GA data wont hurt your rankings nor improve it, so you'll probably need your bot to click from G search to your page for your chosen keywords. I had similar idea a while ago, but i gave up because i would need big pool of good ip's/proxies (public proxies probably wouldn't do the work).

well... i have created similar bot in zennoposter for one of mine customers. I just made it bit more complex and some extra functions, but it works like a charm.

holes in your scheme:

1. alexa rank won't match - well u can spoof alexa rank too (not telling u how)
2. if alexa rank is spoofed, compete and other ranks won't match.

depends how dumb the person buying banner space off you is. Regardless u wont be making money for long if the person buying from you is tracking conversions

If with conversions you mean clicks on ads, that's not a problem with zenno

I too could tell mine to click on ads, then even navigate the advertisers site for a while.

My problems seem to be the source of proxies (like weedsmoker) and the other ratings like alexa or compete. I have proxy multiply getting me fresh USA proxies every hour, about 75 per time, so they are always fresh.

As it is though, I can only run one visitor at a time, so that's my bottle neck. If I wanted to spend a couple hundred to upgrade my software, I could run multiple visitors at the same time.

Google is definitely looking at bouce rate rather then traffic. But fake traffic helps you with Alexa rank.

My advice:

Concentrate on content marketing.
