Those .edu domains are strict about following guidelines and sniffing out anything that even remotely smells like a paid link scheme.

Links on the canvas platform on .edus tend to get wiped at several times during the year, usually end of term times.

He's absolutely right... those posts get deleted at the end of each semester.
I got a nice boost from them but then they got deleted... and needless to say what happened after.

Guest posting on a site like could definitely be helpful, I've heard it can boost your SEO and make you look more credible.

Usually, the kind of .edu links that you see for sale on this and many platforms are not editorial links.
They are either student profiles or a student blog — that kind of thing.
If you are looking for a high-value .edu link, it has to be an editorial link, meaning an editor actually published your link on an actual article that they have vetted.
This pushes a tremendous amount of link authority to your site.
Anything else pales in comparison.
In fact, anything else is really just shades of gradation to spam.
Some .edu pages are so compromised that I wouldn't even be surprised if Google looks at links from that source as automatic spam.
So be very careful when partnering with people to build links or worse yet buying .edu links.
Make sure that they are actual editorial links.
