Hi,

I have some questions about backlink. Lets say your website is about food and you want to leave a backlink at a blog, is it better if the blog is also food related or it doesn't matter at all ?

Yes it does matter always try to get backlinks from relevant websites.
 
Yes... Niche relevant backlinks are more powerful than the ordinary mixed backlinks
 
The closer to your topic the site is, the better!
 
how can I find out if it is follow or no-follow links without any tools, please ?
 
The easiest way is to create your own mini network of niche related sites. Make sure all are registered with different profile info and have all set as private. Also make sure to use different hosting companies as well as platforms for each site. Expensive and time consuming, but worth it (in my opinion) if done right.

People say it's better if it's related, but all my websites are ranking top results through unrelated backlinks.
 
It's always better to have related backlinks it's more whitehat way but that doesn't mean that unrelated BL don't give you juice cuz they do

it's up to you, how you wanna do it, really
