If I'm trying to rank an EMD landing page, what domain do you think would rank better. rudolf-rednosereindeer.com or rudolfrednosereindeer.info

Obviously those aren't the domains but I've been reading that .info is tough to rank. Any truth to that?

.com is always the strongest if available.

Hyphens any form of prefix/suffix or a number added will weaken an emd. Example two recent sites I put up in a similar niche with similar competition. One was an exact match the other I had to add an 's and pluralise. The emd I was able to page one in two weeks the plural is still on page 3 after much work.

The general rule is .com then .net then .org or .info...This is all debatable but there is no debate about the strength of a dot com. If the hyphen looked like it had a right to be there then it can still work otherwise a geo specific domain is strong if you are after one target country.

I'd steer clear of the .info but i've had no issues with hyphens, it's all about content and backlinking. Worry less about the domain!
