[Question] Writing an article.

Hi,

I'm looking to start building my own articles for my website instead of paying for it. I'm trying to build a new Authority website.
I was reading a few books about online article writing and I am have trouble with it. This one ebook said go with a theme template when writing. Also it says to have LSI, theme words and some keywords with 2-4 phrases. Also when writing an article should I focus on my main keyword still? The one that I have in my title.

Is this a correct way to write an article?

Yes, You have to use lsi and super long tails to optimize the article. But most probably the super long tails contains your targeted keyword within it. So no need to worry about concentrating your main keyword. Keep one thing on mind, i.e you're writing article for humans not for SE bots. If you concentrate more on your targeted keyword it'll repeat some more times so the reader will leave your page within a second. The higher bounce rate will reduce your website authority.

Thanks so much I understand so for example if my keyword is say apple. I would do something like this, apple sauce has many benefits to it. The only fruit that can be mixed with vegetables and not give you excess gas are seedless apples.

This is just an example. Red would be the long tail words and obv the target keyword[Themed] is apple.
I guess the green is the LSI?

IMO its 2013 don't fret on keyword density so much. Just try to appear as natural as possible. Just mention the keyword like 2-3 times MAX in a 500 word article otherwise its going to sound really spammy. You can however use as many LSI keywords and synonyms as you want.

If you're going to spend the time to write articles, then you should write articles that will attract visitors. If you just want keyword articles, spend $1-2 for junk articles.

Avoid wasting your time on a content, which is meant to appease Google bots. Your main target should be to garner readers/visitors. And, this is possible only if you're focusing on generating quality content, which is human readable and interesting. Quality content is the need of hour. You may notice that prominent search engines like Google has been welcoming quality content over highly seo'ed garbage.

first thing to do is to search on the topic you want to write about and take notes and split to 4 or 5 paragraphs of 100 to 150 words each, check your articles for grammar and spelling then post it.

Always reader's friendly useful content is king. How fast we can make arrangements for this useful content to reach to the readers is the biggest question. There will be thousands of articles on "apple". But based on what quality parameters, Google is pushing your "apple" article in front of the reader ahead of all other articles?

Where can I find the basics of SEO? I often find it a pain in the butt to really get the basis of an idea that was created on the internet, with such an overload of information and anyone's ability to post at a whim.

Google best SEO blogs, pick 10, and bookmark useful articles. Go through them until you can grasp the basics and see that the right SEO techniques are basically a cocktail of different methods you choose yourself.

I am interested in this thread. I want to know if there is any thread on BHW that has treated this issue before. ie how to write SEO'ed article that in a way that pleases both google and humans. If there is any thread that has covered this thoroughly old members should please paste the thread here. Thanks

I don't think we're gonna get far telling the vets what they should and should not do.

note: I have nothing to do with that asshat above.

My issue is this: I went into the Army at 18 in 2004. I left the country and had no technology for years 05-06, 08-09, 10-11, and 12-13. That creates a nice fat gap in what I should know and what I don't know. I know I know, excuses excuses. It's kinda hard to catch up on the whole damned internet, really.

There are movies and sequels to movies I had no idea came out (like...when are they gonna make the sequel??...like...2 years ago...), twitter, youtube (not until 2009), facebook (what happened to myspace??), smart phones (I couldn't find the phone phones at the phone store anymore), these all just popped up. Like that scene in back to the future where marty find his son, it's just that nuts.

I'm only 30, but my 8 year old can beat my ass at pretty much any device we have. Where do I start with the basics that you guys just throw out? SEO? PAC? IM?

If the client does not demand for LSI or any other thing, I would suggest you just write normally. Concentrating on other keywords/terms which were not given by the client, may make your article bad
