question: where are they downloading from?

i'm a newbie to torrent uploading and i've read some of the links in this category but still not understanding it.

once i've made a torrent that you upload when the person downloads it where are they downloading it from? thats what i don't understand is are they downloading it from my computer? or am i uploading it to a website i've built?

i know this is probably a stupid question but please be kind in your responses. thanks.

torrents are peer to peer..so they start from your pc yes, then say 10 people get it and stay on, now you still are hosting it also

depending on your client, you should be able to see the upload / downloads

You upload the .torrent file and ppl download that file. Then they download from you as you are the only seeder. If they seed the file with you then the next person will download from you and the 1st person to download.

They are downloading from your computer

yes they are downloading from your computer and after some people have downloaded it that keep seeding they download from ur and others computers.
