Question: What are the best traffic techniques you use?

What are the best ways to turn on traffic flow to a site? How much and what technique? I have paid services to bookmark my site I have used web 2.0 blogs and I have posted my links in signatures but my site is still dry as a bone. What do you guys use White hat or black to get traffic and how much do you do starting out? Say you have a brand new site. What do you do to get traffic and how much? Is there a product out there that works for building traffic? Just a few questions

I am sick of SEO'ing.
The past few months I have used classifieds and bought targeted traffic.

For straight traffic, my biggest numbers come from link baiting and following viral trends.

A recent example would be a recent interview on a local Faux news channel that is interviewing a relationship expert. The lady ends up saying something like how O*ba*ma likes fisting his wife. Someone has already uploaded it to Youtube, but i would download it, watermark it and re-upload to Youube and all the major sites like Break, College Humor etc. in addition to my watermark i would include a link to may entertainment site. Then i would embed that video on my site and include a few detailed paragraphs (so its not considered blog spam) about it and then link to it from Digg, Reddit and the others.

You can continue by creating a few funny Gif animations about Obama liking to fist his wife and watermark them with your site URL and submit them 4*ch*ans and the other image boards.

If you're in top of the trends and spend a day or 2 pumping out videos, gifs etc and spread it on variety of different sites you will see lots of traffic..literally overnight and for free.

I use Web 2.0 traffic tactics that I learned from the master: Howie Schwartz. In my opinion, there is no better system than his for getting 1st page organic results in Google for a longtail buying keyword phrase. No Adwords Necessary. I am talking FLOODS OF 100% FREE TRAFFIC! . . . It takes a bit of work, but if you use some of the automated tools that are posted here and there on the forum, you can eliminate some of the tediousness and save some time.

If you want to learn his methods, just do a search for "Howie Schwartz" within the forum. You will find links to a bunch of his audios and videos. His techniques really work (as many of the members here who have been following/applying his methods will agree).

Do yourself a favor and learn everything you can from him and then go out and apply that knowledge to your next product promotion. He is the freakin' Mad Scientist of SEO.

I find getting traffic from Y0uTube is one of the easiest ways but, for me, the conversion rate is really low.

Just got done reading Nick Flames "Youtube Traffic Thieves" and was impressed. Anyone else using these tactics? I'm completely new to marketing on Youtube so please excuse my ignorance.

I rely on organic targeted traffic from search engines

Seo traffic for 5 years allready wish it stay like that

Video marketing, building loads of datafeed sites, social marketing.

Video Marketing , Pay Per Click , Forums

oops and social networking websites somtimes work well too depends on the product

I followed some of the Nick Flames ideas. I incorporated them into my own style of marketing. If you follow it word for word it's not such a good thing to do because everyone else is doing it verbatim. Put your own twist on it.

Article Marketing - Youtube - Web 2.0 Techniques - Targeted Forum Posts - Directories - CL - Backpage - etc., etc., etc.

And do 90% of it with automated tools but always, always, always put my own twist to it. If it isn't targeted and unique it won't convert well. I'd rather have fewer visitors and higher conversions on autopilot than just herding cattle.

Nice! Thanks guys, ok now how many directory submissions should I look at doing? How many web 2.0 sites should I build? As I said, I have done these things before and I get a trickle. I believe Howie Schwartz said something about 1500-1600? Is that the right range? In other words should I get SENuke, BMD, and some automated process for building squidoo lenses and just keep pumping em out?

Youtube, Article Marketing, Forum post, Quality back links, Directory submission are good options

After working way too hard in the past building backlinks from everywhere, I've gotten things down into a strategy where I use a really careful, methodical backlinking method for the first two weeks after I launch a new site. I look for forums with PR6 and above and get backlinks from those and also pursue high ranking blogs and sites (basically wherever I'm allowed to add a link on a high page rank site.) And I hit those hard - not spamming, but being very strategic about how I use my time and where I get a backlink from.

Not all your links will work and Google won't pick up all of them. So I aim to get at least 5 - 10 links from PR 6/7 sites.

I did this on a new site I launched in mid-October. At the time of the first major Google page rank update that happened next (end of December) I was given a page rank of 5 for that site due to the high ranking backlinks. Now everything I post on my site is easier to rank for in the search engines because of this. Even so, my site does't have much content on it yet - only about 30 pages of original content.

So I'd say work smarter, be strategic, don't waste a lot of time seeking useless links.
