Question: Value of Aged Domains

I'm a bit confused, when people talk about buying aged domains, they actually talking about buying non-expired aged domains from the owners?? What about those aged domains that sold at godaddy auctions and those at freshdrop.net? Are they expired??

well...as i understand the game, typically registrars dont release domains back to the public pool after they expire (not all but a few that their algorithms pick up to be worthwhile) ...they just take registration of the domain if the owner fails to renew it and offer it up for auction (like the ones at godaddy tdnam) rather than letting it delete and lose its age...such domains are called "pre-release" domains and dont lose their age as the domain is never deleted but the registrar is holding it for you...

but after a certain period of holding, if no one claims the domain then it gets deleted and goes back to the public pool...

expired domain means,.. record delete.

I've just buught a .net domain that was first registered back in 2003.
It was registered till 2007 and then, after expired, it was on sale since last month.
Anyway I've checked and find all tha records (website pages included from 2003 to 12/2007), so I don't know about "record delete"
