Changing a website’s domain name from .net to .com can have a impact on the website’s visibility and ranking in search engine results. The website may lose any traffic it was receiving from users who were familiar with the .net domain name.Google and other search engines will treat the website as a new entity and will have to re-index and re-crawl the website’s content.

If the 301 is properly applied from .net to .com then all the traffic, incoming link juice and keywords ranking, etc. will be passed on to the .com site. However it will not happen overnight. You will see sudden drop in all the metrics and things will stabilize in few (or many) weeks.
So be prepared for this change.

just redirect the one site to another , thats the only way to pass good traffic 301 redirection would be good tho.

Thank you for the information. Yeah, actually on this website we are working really hard since 2014 and have a great SEO results. That’s why this changing the url is making me think twice

It should be fine and even better in the long run if done correctly but as other people have said it will drop your traffic as the URLs will change. I did this before but switched it to a good expired domain so i had a bit of a boost and kind of levelled it out.

Why are you thinking of migrating from .net to .com? Aren't you getting desired results? What are your expectations from .com after the transfer?

Changing URLs will have an SEO impact.
Better not to change unless the site doesn't have much traffic.
