Let's say you are promoting an offer that allows display/contextual. So you make a few banners and get a little media campaign going. Have you ever had to submit those banners to your affiliate manager for approval?

I setup a quick POF + Peerfly campaign the other day. A week later, get suspended and $3k odd pocketed. Advertisers said my banner ad was not authorized. I promoted a dating offer with the following:

IPrOi.gif

AM confirmed: Every offer states "Using our banner creatives (or your own approved media) to promote this offer."

So apparently if you want to promote a Peerfly offer with your own banner that you've made you need to mail it to your affiliate manager for approval.

I've never heard of anyone doing this. Is this like an obvious thing I completely missed out on under my rock?

PS: Also, advertiser claimed that I was using incent facebook traffic and bots to generate my leads until I sent them my POF login details and asked them to compare the stats and POF tracking reports. Jokers.

Some advertisers are very strict about that. Well, for me, I blank my referer. Not get any trouble (yet). I remember your pof tutorial. It was nice. Good luck.

I always try to be as transparent as possible but does not looks like it's always the best strategy :D

I have tons of successful media campaigns I ran in the past to share. Actually, the one I was banned for was generating 400% ROI. Can't get myself to sit down and make a few case study threads. Glad you liked the POF one.

I always give them the smallest amount of information possible - next time claim you are self hosting their creatives and leave it at that.

that's why I prefer to use contextual adverts than banners.. I always stay away with custom banners. Just stick with the default banner the advertiser provides. Be creating a site for an offer using banners and I'll find out how it goes.

I also remember somebody here that if you are earning way too big, they pry their eyes on you. So I guess mixing up offers with several offers from different networks may do.

Hey, just a quick question.

Did you use a landing page with that banner of just direct link it?

Yeah I thought this was common knowledge. Maybe I spend too much time reading terms and conditions.

I would like to know also did you use a landing page or you just directly linked to the offer

Custom creatives should always be run by your AM for approval. Most advertisers are pretty strict about what they'll allow and even if your creative is good under their guidelines, some advertisers can be pricks and term the account based on the fact that you didn't get it approved.

So just be careful in the future, check terms and run things by your AM as a precautionary measure.
