Hi guys and girls.
I`m stuck on my project now...

I`m wondering what would be better to build my site with... for low competition keyword in my country...

Would it be better to go with wordpress as a platform and build a theme with artister or build it up in photoshop and use something like good seo template like this one...
Code:
http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/member-downloads/122800-get-fullmetalseo-book-template.html

The problem with the template is that I can`t use good designed headers because I need text on it to rank for a keyword.

I`m not a SEO expert.. I`m a total noob, but I`m learning and I think it would be better for the site to look good not crappy so I think I would be better with wordpress, but what about the seo stuff with it...?!

I`m really confused right now about it all...

Use whatever theme and just install AIO (All in one) SEO plugin for Wordpress, seeing as it's a low competition keyword, shouldn't be too hard to rank with, I suggest you try link wheels to rank for your keyword. :)

The keyword I need to rank for has about 1k competitors and the other one is with a little below 20k...
I think to rank for the first one should be pretty easy...

And about wordpress... the thing that bothers me is the design... If I will be able to manage to make it in photoshop and put it up as a theme with artister or something like that it would be great =]

Thanks

The effect of the theme is very less. All you have to make sure is that your content is not pushed down too much in the source code.

Whatever theme you use, view the source code of the page. Or use a text only browser to see the page. If you can get the actual content above the navigation, sidebar and footer, then it is good enough. Also make sure that your blog post title is H2.

Like Alex mentioned, use AIO and you are good to go. The key however is to get backlinks to your site.

Yes backlinks... But with good on page seo I should be able to outrank my competitors who have no seo whatsoever... about the theme... I`m not doing it for me so it needs to look professional and I really want to design it myself...

That's why I thought to go with designing it in photoshop and then dreaweaver or frontpage, but then there`s these h1 etc tags and I can`t make the text into the photoshop header design because google will not see that text... grrr

I hope somebody understood what am I talking about right now :D :sombrero:

Well, if it's design, it's not hard to remake the graphics to accomodate text header. I know because I used that kind of setup with mine.

I`m now trying artisteer out for creating a wordpress theme...
Hmm if wordpress will be good for seo then I will probably go for it... If I will manage to make a decent site with it...

Yeah we can always do that... That`s not an option... But thanks anyways...
I`m now trying to get a hang of artisteer and then we`ll see how it goes... I hope wordpress plugins will be good for seo and stuff... hmm If I won`t think of anything else then I will go for wordpress :o

If you really need a good design as well as good SEO, try hiring a Design Studio, and tell them what you need. They should design one for you, as per your expectations. Even something that wont look like a blog, but something which is a Professional Website (though it will be on WordPress)

make sure to do an analysis of your competitors using a tool like:
HTML:
http://www.linkdiagnosis.com/
this will tell you all about their backlinks and the anchor text.So you can follow the exact pattern or use your own pattern.

Actually, photoshop and some css tweaking can do just that. Just reverse engineer the theme and see what you can change.

Hi,

1K, 20k and 100k competition is very easy to beat, so you don't need to bother with the theme selection, just choose what you like and think what visitors will consider user frendly.
Focus rather on good content.
Also get few backlinks and you are set.

Build you website first with a simple text header that includes your keyword or keyword phrase. Craft your copy using good seo practices. Then launch and begin tweaking your work to improve it.

Don't get hung up on the graphics, you can add them later. You do not need a fancy header to get your page ranked well.
