Hello there.

After reading for a while here, I started "whitehatting" my site a bit. I did some background work on my competition and started commenting in some of the blogs they did to get at least some of the same backlinks they have.

The thing is, that in a couple of these blogs, after commenting only once in a them related post, I started seeing backlink after backlink show up.

I don't know if that's going to have a negative impact on my site. Will google see it as some kind of spam?

thanks in advance!

Some blogs display "recent comments" in the sidebar and you may end up getting backlinks from many pages on the same site. This should not effect your rankings at all though.

Yea,i had the same problem. There was no recent comment widget. After just commenting on one page yahoo was showing backlinks on every page but when i checked manually there was no link of my site.

Use those blogs for a quick juice injection or to get sites/urls indexed faster

Its just a recent sitewide link. The extra links are no problem and will not have any negative or positive effect. They will eventually go away when the site is spidered again.
