(Question) Selling websites offline

Yes, your process is almost complete. However, on #6, you do not just "purchase hosting". You either host it on your reseller account or you sign them up under your affiliate hosting account so that you receive an additional $100-$150.

Now, back to your original point. I do not recall the OP of the idea mentioning how much he charges. In fact, I think he does it for free... which I could not afford to do.

I think setting a MSRP of $1,500 but offering websites for $399, signing up as a hosting account and then being done with everything would be the ideal approach. You would need them to signup and give you access to the account or if it is a trusted relationship, you may be able to work out some other payment method.

I hope it works and with you being 15 (which is 3 years under the age requirement on here), you have a huge advantage. I'm a few years older than you but wished that I would have caught on much earlier.

Don't be a stranger. Come back often, contribute and share. There is a new star born every day.

thanks for the quick reply. I will look into an affiliate hosting account - Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks :)

@CoyoteAssassin: Feel free to PM me the information too if you want to. Thanks in advance, s

Thanks coyoteassasin! I will look into them.

Another question - Do you recommend i get a website of my own for this? or just go without one?

Yes, you want to have a website of your own. Buy one from your affiliate link and make some money on your own website. There are plenty of hosting/web design templates. Personally, if you do not have a website, why would I pay you to make mine?

You will do well. You have time on your side. Take this job serious and you will not need an after school job. Discipline yourself, set goals, and I think you have the ability to do this 100% whitehat for your community and small businesses in the area.

Any company with who you are able to get an appointement with can be a future client. So take it serious.

I do not think that IP's are tracked in regards to what you are mentioning.

I do not enjoy making websites like I once did but with programs like Wordpress, you can put something together, educate your client, and turn it over to them. They will recommend you from that point on.

@CoyoteAssasin Unfortunately the site you sent me only pays checks to residents of the US.

Do you have any suggestions for similar affiliate links that are reliable? Thanks :)

Oh yeah - I did not take that into consideration...

With that said, I recommend searching 'best web host affiliates' and looking at the results on the top pages and reviewing them until you find 1) a company that will pay you and 2) a company you want to do business with.

I hope that helps.

I agree. You do want to make money out of the deal but you have to take into consideration are you only making money from design + affiliate commission or design + affiliate + hosting.

If i were to use my friends hosting i would get more clients, i would get less money because I wouldn't be using the affiliate link - But he would still get money and would make him happy... Then if i use the affiliate hosting i would get (a lot) more money but less clients. Which do you suggest?

Do you expect your friend to be in business for the next few years? There is no reason why the two of you can not arrange something so that you receive 50% of the monthly payment. If you are looking for something long-term and doing it 100% legal, your friends hosting should work as long as you trust in the service that he provides.

Take care.
