Question regarding no follow blog comments

Basically is there a point posting comments on nofollow blogs for SEO? What benefit does it give by posting on those blogs if any?

Could anybosy explain this?

no benifit... it wont give you a backlonk ... no follow means it tells googles spider that dont consider this link for ur algo to rank sites...
If you are able to put a useful comment that really helped the discussion and if you are also able to put your link in the comment body.. u might have some targeted traffic ... thts it... no backlink tho...

Well that makes sense. So the reality is blog commenting is a lot more challenging than it was before I guess.

Do you know if actually SE give more weight no blog comments than social bookmarking sites? Or is it all the same crap as far as the value of the backlink goes?

nofollow don't pass PR, but I still got traffic from nofollow comments. Especially from a high traffic blog. PR is not everything.
