I came across an expired domain which is an ecommerce site. It has good RD 200+. I am not able to see any page in the Wayback machine. The site pages are still indexed and seen in Google SERPs. Is it worth registering the domain?.

How I can build this website as I am not able to see the pages in the Wayback machine? Or Can I use this as 301 redirect domain?

How to check whether the domain is already used as an 301 redirect or PBN?

Thanks

1. Its shit. There are no expired domains worth the registration price with 200 RDs so its basically a spam fest link profile.
2. Its shit. If it was any good wont be expired. Who would leave his successful eCommerce website go down? Even if the owner died or something, the domain would be bought at the auctions for $xxxx.

First rule, if it looks like something is fishy, there definetly is something fishy and you should avoid it.

Applying the second logic, all the expired domains should be useless.

Not really. Domains with 20-30-40 RDs are good enough to be bought and registered for $20-30, but are often overlooked at the auctions as prices in some of the domain auctions/backorders start from $25-30 up to $79 regardless of how shitty the domain is. And since there are literally hundreds of thousands of domains expiring the weaker one just dont get bought at the auctions nor get backordered. However there is NO 200 RDs domain that would be overlooked at the auctions, ever.

The first thing to consider is to check if the RD link is of good quality. Then you can consider as 301 redirect if the keyword is related on what you are looking for.

Not all expired domains are shit, but they are like hidden gems. If you search 1000 domains, you might find 10-20 ok domains and 1-2 good domains.

Wrong, you won't find good domains. You will find mediocre domains.

There people scanning all day every day with their machines for good expired domains so unless you have those machines you are basically useless.

Make that number 100 000 and you might have a ballpark estimate, depending on what you consider "ok" and what you consider "good". That's subjective.

Yes, basically. And you do not really need scrapers, when you can easily get a list of all domains that were ever registered. Not that hard to get it.

You do not have to rebuild an expired domain in order to use it effectively. Put the domain into Majestic or Ahrefs, I am pretty sure, as Angelo mentioned, that it's gonna be a spamfest. Considering it's still indexed, then feel free to use it for whatever churn and burn purposes you see fit.
But redirecting something that's spammed with shit anchors, which this domain most likely is, is a perfect way to Neg SEO yourself.

Also, 301 redirects of the expired domain in the past are absolutely irrelevant.Like 90%+ expired domains were redirected in the past whether you can see it in Archive or not. Oftentimes to parking page. 301 isn't permanent and it's a one way road, meaning that domain being redirected won't get a penalty.

Did I say great domains? What I said is "good" domains for PBNs, and minor stuff not something you could use as your own. :))

But agreed on the tools side, you definitly rely on them to be able to find anything at all. Manually you don't have time to go through enough of them.

1000 might be too low, but I think 100k is too high. But yeah, it depends on your definition of 'ok' and what you intend to use them for.

Even 100K is too low. And I go through 8 -10 mil domains a month.
I think my standards are way lower than yours, that's why the numbers don't match on what we say :)

Hope to someday reach a level where I need your level of standards ;)

I understand this, if someone does not have the time to do this, there are sellers on bhw providing this service.

Check if RD link in good quality. Then you can do 301 redirect if the keywords related on what you look for

Does the data from archive look shady?
