Hi all,

I'm going to build a niche site, and i need to choose e domain. I found an available domain that includes both of my keywords:

keyword1 - keyword2 .net

Is there any downside using the "-" in between?

Thanx :)

In this forum you will get 50% saying it does matter, and 50% saying it doesnt. Personally to me, it doesnt matter at all. Obviously a EMD with no - would be better for type in trafic and will be worth more, but you see websites domains which have absolutely no relevance to the content, ranking number 1 for certain keywords.

Its all about the SEO man!

Thanx for the info.

I'm going with it then.

However, now I'm noticing that i posted on the wrong forum :(

Regards, and thanx again :)

the dash is sometimes even better than the domains w/ no dash depending on the domain... expertsexchange.com is a good example.. ha.

expert sex change or experts exchange

that's why they added the dash...

"-" is one of those characters that Google and other search engines will ignore. Makes no difference.

for one of my sites im going to develop i think using the dash will help. the domain is OFF-ROADINDUSTRYCOM. (but i do also own OFFROADINDUSTRYcom) another dash domain i own is GOPRO-HDNET. this one i wanted the dash because of the name of the product.
i think either way in the end it wont matter. i have been building websites for the last 15+ years and as long as my se stuff was done rite i could not tell the difference.

Code:
thats funny.... i cant do any tld's after my domains. guess its because im new here.
