Question regarding backlinks

Hi, recently started digging into learning about SEO and been reading up on backlinks and looking into purchasing links. Just wanted a bit of insight on a couple of things.

1. Do you need a certain number of backlinks per site? I am aiming to eventually make an affiliate site in a certain niche.

2. I came across this website where they offer a service to outreach for links for you i am guessing and is a minimum $150 per link for a low traffic site.

Are this common pricing and anything else i need to know about purchasing links?

Not really. This depends a lot on your niche. Some people have even ranked for low comp keywords without any link building (I’m amusing they target very long tail keywords, if you want to rank for the most popular keywords in your niche you’ll need good hq backlinks).

As for the price of guest posts, it varies a lot. Some blogs might accept your posts for free (not all blogs though). You can save a lot of money if you contact them directly, but you need to be good at negotiating and of course need to provide good content.

Some guest posts providers use PBNs, so you need to be very careful who you buy your links from.

You need to analyze your competition - this will tell you the amount and kind of backlinks you need to compete with them.

Take any of the backlinks your competition uses and see how much does a backlink from the same place costs.

the number of links you need depend on the quality of the links used,
you can rank with 2-3 links easily and struggle with 100s of others,
if you're going for guest posting, you should actually go for manual outreach or get someone service who does that,
that would help you avoid the spammy websites selling guest posting and get links from authority geniune websites within your niche
