Hello there guys.

I've just ran into some problems and am looking for somebody with experience.

So, I've ran a couple campaigns on PropellerAds. On first and seconds campaigns I used Google Analytics to track my traffic.

With the CPM of 1.3 to 2$, in the propellerads dashboard I've seen a number of 5-10k impressions for each campaign (depending on the budget). On GA I saw like 300 unique users... I messaged them and they said that GA tracks PopUnder clicks incorrectly. Okay...

I created another campaign. I've setup Yandex Metrika on it and my own simple node.js server to track user activity. Both YM and my server showed results ~ 20 times less than the number I saw in the propellerads dashboard.

So, seeing like 8k impressions on propellerads dashboard, I got like 400-500 unique IPs/users in Yandex Metrika and my own server. Again, they said YM can show stats incorrectly and they also ignored that I wrote about my own server counter. They said to use something like Voluum to track impressions. Though I don't think it would show something better, since my server has been counting impressions so simple, just like when a user loaded a page I automatically sent a message to my server and tracked him. I could understand ~50% of traffic loss (though it wouldn't be cool) , but not 90%?!

Am I wrong? Can someone put his own experience here? Maybe advice about another popunder/popup/whatever traffic source? Why should I pay like 5-8$ CPM if 1-2$ CPM shows only 5-10% of all impressions, I don't believe something would change with a higher CPM. CPM rate determines if my ad will be shown or not if there is another competitor, so there is no way I could lose 90% of my paid traffic.

Thanks in advance guys!

Propeller have a lot of problems. Try buying traffic through Ad Maven. They are much better in all aspects.

You aren't the first person I've seen say this recently...

What's your VPS specs like?

Don't remember exactly, it's not something superb. I guess it was 1gb RAM/etc. I didn't notice anything when I was running a campaign, the site was working without any problems. I checked it frequently. I also thought about this... And maybe still think.
But well.. It's not something extreme, not hundreds of thousands yet...

It's going to be hard to say without a tracker. I guess it's possible if you had a sudden surge of traffic.

What about using Thrive's free 30 day trial to check?

I will give it a try. But do you think it will be better than my simple server which has been counting simply site views? We don't need something complicated, just to compare the numbers, which differ in 20 fucking times.

I tried propellerads again with a 10$ cpm. :) And again shitty results. I can't believe it's like that.

I've put their single link ad (you can promote it without a site) and created a new campaign now. It will be 30k users/1$ CPM. Not from US. Let's see... If it will be at least 2/3 it's okay I guess...

Or maybe (for real) 90% of users just close those popunders as soon as they appear? :/

I'm thinking more along the lines that if there is a discrepancy in the traffic, you will have indisputable evidence as Thrive is as respectable as Voluum.

propellers track all kind of traffic ( include fake traffic) GA and YM filter and show only real traffic

so 70% of propeller traffic is fake !!
