Question on using 1000+ E-mail List without ending up in Spam Folder

I have a band with a e-mail list of several thousand people who have either bought our album or voluntary signed up at shows.

I like to e-mail those on the list (our fans) with updates on shows or a new youtube video we release. Usually send one e-mail a month. My fear is that my e-mails may be going into the spam folder because I BCC everyone on the list. Is there a more effective way I should be doing this? Thanks!

several ways to approach it:
1. Aweber, Mailchimp, getResponse - will probably want to verify that list if yours when you will be importing it - those are called autoresponders and you will get good deliverability (depends on your title/content of email etc.)
2. Ymlp.com - not as good as the ones above, but with more "free" import rules.
3. Hostgator (hosting provider) allows for max 500 mails per day, so if you get an email sender and set it up you will be good to go

I would go with autoresponder.
