I started a new fashion business lately and I am trying to choose the right keywords and strategy to boost ranking.

my first question is, there is so much competition on common keywords like "sunglasses" "jeans" etc. Should I not bother with keywords that have a lot of competition? and should I add more details to the keywords?

Second question, should I diversity the keywords when purchasing link building packages from different providers? Or should I submit the same keywords to all of them?

    Thanks

Yes, You have to consider the keyword competition from the beginning of your SEO process.

You have to get keyword diversity from your backlinks. Instead of targeting only on main keywords You can use the long tail keyword, branded keyword, generic keyword while you building the links. Mark sure all your powerful links are targeting your main keyword.

Make sure your main keywords are included in title tag, description and the URL of your website. You have to track keyword competition from starting of SEO. You can use long tail keywords for link building.

You can opt for long tail keywords.

"best boilerplate SEO strategy" tends to rank well - sometimes with sitelinks.

    Thanks

Is your business a physical store? If so then you can go for the hard keywords + your region and you'll face much less competition. Also create a business listing on google plus with all your data and verify your address, that'll give you a nice boost for regional searches.

Use your main keywords for tier 1 and some less competitive keywords with the highest number of search results you can get this by adding some information before and after your keywords as like op said " keywords + your region ".

If you are going to purchase the same service from different vendors then you should consider about splitting those keywords. Or it is a different service, then you can use all your keywords.

Go fr the main keywords regardless of their competition, plus add lots of long tails for added benefit. You sell what you sell.

You can consider expanding to long tail keywords, you will likely get traffic from your target audience. And the best approach would be diversifying your keywords.

Say I purchased SEO ranking services from a vendor for 3 keywords and i got ranked 50 on google for these keywords. Shouldn't I now buy the same service (SEO) from a different vendor with the same keywords to rank even higher now? Since the new vendor will have a different supply of blogs, sites, etc?

I guess my question is how do I keep ranking higher and higher to get to that rank that will land me on the first page?
